The Lopez Swim Center is open because of you.
More than 1,300 donors, volunteers, and community supporters came together to raise more than $11 million and create a year-round resource for Lopez Island.
What was once a community dream is now a reality.
This is your Swim Center. Built by the community and sustained primarily by the people who use it.
While the doors are opening, our work is not finished. We are still raising the funds to complete our capital campaign, strengthen startup reserves, and support the Center through its early years as membership revenue grows.
Your gift helps ensure a strong and sustainable future for the Swim Center.
Together, we built something extraordinary. With your continued support, we can ensure it thrives.
Download and print the Donation Form, and send a check or money order to us at FLIP, PO Box 453, Lopez Island, WA 98261-0453. Every gift, whatever the size, makes a difference. We'll send you a receipt and our heartfelt thanks by return mail.
Include FLIP in your will and leave a lasting legacy that supports the health and wellness of our community. A gift of cash or property made through a will or living trust ensures a tradition of giving that will continue after the donor’s lifetime.
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle that allows you to make a contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to your favorite nonprofits. It's a simple and easy way to manage your philanthropic giving.
Giving stock can sometimes be more beneficial than giving cash. If you've got stocks that have significantly appreciated, donating them helps avoid capital gains taxes on those profits. Plus, you'll likely get a tax deduction for the full value of the stock, all without touching your cash.
Many corporations and foundations offer matching gift programs that may allow you to double or even triple a contribution. Contact your human resource office or other company personnel for details.
Giving monthly is the easiest and most convenient way to give. Your charitable giving works year-round, and can be directed to support our ongoing water-safety programs, which are crucial for our island communities surrounded by the sea.
Want to make a big splash, but need to spread your gift out over several years? A multiyear pledge helps the Center plan for the future with confidence, knowing we have a steady stream of support for programs, maintenance, and growth. Choose an amount that works for you each year; your consistent commitment makes a huge difference in keeping our community pool thriving for everyone
A gift from your IRA can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to support the Lopez Swim Center. If you are age 70.5 or older, you may be eligible to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA to Friends of Lopez Island Pool.
QCDs may reduce taxable income and, for those required to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), may count toward satisfying that obligation. Please consult your financial or tax advisor to determine whether a QCD is right for you.
